Alex & Mat - Gambier Island

There’s nothing quite like getting to work a wedding with your bestie! This incredible Camp Fircom wedding was flowered by Green Leaf Floral Design with our help and is a day Amanda and I will never forget. The morning started early with a 5AM wakeup call to load the van. A very soggy boat trip, followed by a ride in the back of a pick-up truck, 1972-style, and the flowers had arrived.

Alex and Mat had planned an outdoorsy, memory-filled 3 day camp weekend for their friends and family. Being surrounded by tall trees, lush ferns and the changing leaves that late September brings, we knew we wanted to incorporate those elements into Alex and Mat’s wedding flowers.

Being a flower-lover, Alex wanted a bold and impactful bouquet, filled with toffee and rust toned roses, garden roses, bronze rudbeckia and foraged wild rosehips.

Bridesmaids carried a smaller version and the boys wore boutonnieres, all a little different.
